Cute Stuff from Japan: My Re-Ment Part 2

Re-ment Japan

It has been awhile since I wrote of my beloved Re-ment. Please don’t think my lack of posts on it suggests a lack of love!

I still adore it!

To start – a little education

Wikipedia describes Re-Ment as:

RE-MENT Co., Ltd. (株式会社リーメント Kabushikigaisha-Riiment?), located in Chiyoda Tokyo, is a Japanese manufacturer of collectible plastic toys. The company’s name is derived from a combination of the phrase “reform the entertainment”, alluding to their desire for innovation in the toy market. Established in 1998, Re-Ment currently sells a line of highly-detailed miniature food, furniture and animal figures as well as mobile phone charms, doll fashions and magnets.

But of course, the real point of this post is look at and scream “sqweeee” over adorable, kawaii pictures of Re-ment puchi petits. And this is second only to opening a little box yourself and discovering what you got and putting it all together and screaming “kawaaaaaiiiiii”.

This set from my collection is part of a bento competition series. Mine is entry number 6.

It has a sea theme, lighthouse thermos, life saver bento box….too cute.

And inside a lovely meal with a whale that if my poor Japanese translation is correct (which is only slightly possible) by the name of Mr. Swimmy :) Aww….look at Mr. Swimmy, he’s happy! :)

Mr. Swimmy is an onigiri. He is made of rice, nori (seaweed) and cheese for the face. Kawaii!

The prawns are breaded shrimps ( I think) with the face made of eggs! (again I think) How clever, hey! The squid are made of sausage and the fishy at the back is likely an omelet with some type of rice filling. So you could actually make this very bento for yourself if you wanted to!!!

Oh, how cute would that be, making the actual lunch and then having your little re-ment next to it in perfect miniature….you’ll excuse me while I sigh with happiness at the idea :) *sighhhh*

And the thermos lighthouse even has the tops come off like a real thermos! It’s these details that make re-ment so great!

And finally….

…whale spoon and squid fork!!!!!!!*sqweee!* So great….just so great :)

So this is one of my re-ment collection. I slowly want to post more of it, so I can look at them on the couch on the site when I don’t feel like walking all the way over to my display :)

If I have made any errors in translation or what some of the foods might be, please let me know in the comments below. For now, I will picture making the bento meal in real life.

Re-ment can be purchased online from some sellers. They can also be purchased at toy stores and some grocery stores in Japan.
