We won the bidet!

bidet

What an interesting, and slightly disturbing, headline.

Yes it’s true, we won the bidet we were bidding on. Proof that we were meant to have it. Also, we were the only bidder.

Why I wanted a bidet

Hopefully I’m not crossing a line with all this toilet talk, but I find bidets and Japanese toilets in general to be fascinating. And apparently I’m not the only one. On one of our previous trip to Japan, we found that meetings with other foreign visitors would quickly turn to toilet talk. It’s one of the few areas in life that westerners have neglected to pamper themselves.

Stacey and I have often wondered why heated toilet seats are not a indelible right of every Canadian. On arrival to Canada, immigrants should have been given a Hudson’s Bay blanket and a heated toilet set. The Canadian pooping procedure is still very much in the dark ages.

What we bought

There were a few features that we wanted to have in the seat. A bidet and a heated seat were pretty much at the top of the list. While background music and an automatic seat would have been nice, we decided that we could do without them.

We ended up with the Bio Bidet BB-600. It’s an older model, but it comes with all the features we needed at a decent price.

  • Heated Seat
  • Warm Air Dry
  • Built-in Filter
  • Hydraulic Seat and Cover
  • Self-Diagnosis
  • Massage Cleaning
  • Dual Action Nozzle
  • Gentle Aerated Water Stream

I’m not entirely sure what the self-diagnosis feature is. I’m just hoping this thing doesn’t become self-aware.

Your Japanese Toilet Experiences

I pretty sure anyone who has been to Japan has had at least one Japanese toilet experience. We would love to hear them in your comments.

Just to get things started, my first Japanese toilet experience ended with me screaming like a little girl.

Japanese toilet seats are nothing short of awesome…I would increase by bran intake by 300% just to increase the opportunity to use one. I bet you have one of the only ones in SK….

I can’t understand why they haven’t caught on elsewhere. It’s truly a lifestyle upgrade :)
