So what could be even better than konapun? That’s right, making mini foods and then being able to eat them. That’s what Popin’ Cookin’ is.

They have various kits to try. You can make Sushi, Ramen, Ice Cream shapes, and a Bento box. They also have a couple kits where you can make gummy or soft type candies. I am curious about the soft candy kit. When you translate it in Google, it comes up as: I bloody murder Poppinkukkin paste Land.

HOW DO YOU MAKE IT?

Poppin Cookin

It looks much like konapun in that you just add water, but get a variety of textures. Here are some instructions provided in English.

They have Japanese instructional videos here:

WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?

Again the handy Google translation (or maybe not so handy translation) says:

Flavor: grape flavored soda + taste, flavor grape soda taste lemon, strawberry vanilla flavor, grape flavor, grape flavor, grape flavor strawberry flavored yogurt flavor tastes Muscat.

Mmm…that’s good muscat!

WHERE DOES THIS LEAVE ME?

So I think Trav actually pointed some of these out to me. But I was too distracted with Sylvania family and Re-ment to give it the attention it deserves. Rest assured though, that I will purchase some of these kits and do my own taste tests….for science, of course =)
