Japanese Roundup – July 09
There’s always new and often bizarre things coming our way from Japan. Sometimes the things we stumble across build up and we’re forced to do a Japanese Roundup =)
A Japanese Roundup a collection of the new, funny, and strange things that we’ve come across while researching our articles. So without further delay, here’s our very first Japanese Roundup!
Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary
Say what you will about Hello Kitty, it’s a major brand that has stood the test of time. Where else but in Japan would you find the strangest Hello Kitty products for celebrating it’s 35th Anniversary.
How would you like to be the criminal brought down with the Hello Kitty Taser?
OK, it’s actually fake, but I wouldn’t put it past the Japanese to actually make it =)
Hello Kitty Tent
I’m just going to come out and say it – I don’t think it’s safe for your children to sleep in the Hello Kitty tent.
Hello Kitty Guitar by Fender
Who wouldn’t want to rock out on the Hello Kitty Guitar? Actually, I wouldn’t.
Hello Kitty Assault Rifle
When did Hello Kitty get so violent? She must have a lot of issues to work through.
Hello Kitty Breath Tester
When Hello Kitty is not fighting bad guys she’s doing her part to rid the world of bad breath.
Bye Bye Gaijin
Get rid of pesky foreigners with Bye Bye Gaijin!
How Godzilla Affects My Daily Commute
The Japanese really hate it when their train is delayed by another Godzilla attack.
Ultra-thin Booth Attendant
Here’s a pretty neat product that shown here at an Epson product booth. A 3-millimeter-thick glass cut into the shape of a woman, with a rear projector beaming video onto the film, whose microbead-arrayed surface produces a crisp, brilliant image viewable from any angle.
Shinbashi!!
At last but not least, a humorous take on learning the Japanese language. SHINBASHHHHHHH!!

I have seen the Hello Kitty Fender guitar in Hong Kong also! You see, Hong Kong society in general is in love with all things Japanese, so Hello Kitty is everywhere.
